A selective rack is organised into bays using upright frames and horizontal beams. The specification starts with the pallets and the working layout, then defines the components as one coordinated system.

- Starter bays, extension bays, number of levels and pallet positions.
- Pallets
- Length, width, height and maximum loaded weight.
- Configuration
- Required beam span, frame depth and height; subject to technical review.
- Project inputs
- Floor plan, handling equipment, delivery location and design/installation responsibilities.
Details that matter
A component dimension alone does not establish system capacity. Beam, frame and connection details must be assessed for the proposed configuration. New systems and extensions need clearly identified components.
